Amazing Jewish Heritage tour to Uzbekistan

I cannot recommend Silk Road Treasure Tours too highly.  Zulya and her expert team tailor-made an unforgettable trip to Uzbekhistan for my wife and me this August 2019. 

Everything was pre-planned with meticulous attention to detail, and a truly excellent guide Fakhradeen who had the knowledge and confidence to respond with complete flexibility to every on-site adjustment to keep the experience fresh and spontaneous.

Nothing is too much trouble, and everything is thought through based on years of experience taking travellers to the region.  It could not be easier. 

All transport (internal flights, trains, and an air-conditioned limo and driver at your disposal day and night), tickets for sites and (most exceptionally) dinners at a wide variety of restaurants with free choice of menu, are included in the price. 

Fakhriddin met us on landing, looked after our every need throughout our stay, travelling with us and then guiding us through Tashkent, Bukhara, Samarkand and Khiva: he was there when we asked, left us when we asked also, available seemingly at any hour and for as many hours as we wished, and even helped carry our bags right through security to check-in at the airport on departure.

Hotels were carefully selected for their local feel, and restaurants hand-picked to cater for our diets yet still give us the widest experience of the varied regional cuisines. 

And there are surprises too – in Bukhara we were whisked off for lunch at the home of Zulya’s large and talented family, a generous feast followed by a dance-show in which we all participated. 

Silk Road Treasure Tours are aptly named, a treasure indeed.  We very much intend to continue our exploration of this fascinating part of the world with Zulya in the coming years.
