Stan and Barbara Grogg, November, 2014
Ms. Zulya Rajabova,
I just wanted you to know how much my wife, Barbara, and I enjoyed the Central Asia "Stans" tour. We have traveled to all continents and approximately 150 countries and territories and this was one of the best organized, educational trips that we have participated. We typically do not do tour groups but this group of 10 participants was perfect for touring together.
The tour guides in each country were excellent in English and were always available for recommendations from restaurants to obtaining money for exchange. The guides were well educated on the history of the Stans and how to relate the information to the group.
Lodging was variable depending on the area visiting. The hotels were generally 4 stars depending on the locality. The evening in the Yurts will always be remembered. The sky at night was so clear with so many stars visualized.
The food depended upon locality. We never went hungry. Beverages were varied but excellent. Another member of the group and I were into "trying local beers" and the guide was able to direct us and make recommendations.
Bazaar shopping was interesting and allowed us to interact with the locals. . Each mausoleum, mosque, ruin and museum was unique and filled with history of the Silk Road. The dress of each area was interesting and unique; I even purchased a "hat".
I just wanted to thank you and tour guides for this excellent adventure.
