Day 01 Arrive in Ulaanbaatar You will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel. After lunch, you will enjoy a sightseeing tour around Ulaanbaatar that includes the National History Museum, where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from the Stone Age to the present, and an excursion to the Zaisan Hill War Memorial to get your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city.
Day 02 Terelj National Park Sightseeing drive to Terelj National park (70km) and visit a local horseman’s family. You'll explore the extraordinary formation of rocks and stones; some of them look quite similar to turtles. The Terelj National Park incorporates parts of the Khentii Mountain Range. This includes an overnight in the tourist camp.
Day 03 Hustai National Park Early morning drive to Hustai National Park and see Takhi, the Asian wild horse. Enjoy light hiking and photographing the charming landscape and wildlife. Visit Takhi's small museum and spend an overnight in the tourist camp.
Day 04 Ugii Lake Transfer to Ugii Lake (altitude 1387 m; surface area—25 sq. km). You will discover the beauty of the lake by taking a boat tour and do some birding and fishing. Play traditional games and stay in a tourist camp.
Day 05 Visit Erdenezuu and Karakorum After breakfast at the tourist camp, you will drive to Karakorum, the symbolic ruins of the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. Along the way, you will see Khusuu Tsaidam, a Turkic inscribed monument of the Turkic State (6th – 8th centuries A.D). Also, visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest monastery, with 108 stupas, built in 1586. Overnight in tourist camp.
Day 06 Ongi Temple Drive to Ongi Temple, which once was home to about thousand lamas. It is a ruin of the large monastery Bari Yonzon Hamba on the bank of the river. On the way, you will enjoy the vast steppe of the country. Spend the night in the tourist camp.
Day 07 Bayanzag, the land of dinosaur Enjoy a sightseeing drive to Bayanzag (known as the Flaming Cliffs where the first nest of dinosaur eggs ever discovered was found in 1922), a site famous for the remains of a dinosaur that lived there 60 million years ago. You can walk around where dinosaurs once roamed and see saksaul trees and other classic desert vegetation. Stay overnight in the tourist camp.
Day 08 Khongor Sand Dune Transfer to Khongor Sand Dune. These are Mongolia's largest sand dunes, reaching a height of 800 meters in some areas. The sand dunes change color with each hour of the day, from yellow to silver to rose-colored at dawn and sundown. Overnight in a tourist camp.
Day 09 Khongor Sand Dune Enjoy riding camels while exploring the Khongor Sand Dunes. The two-humped Bactrian camels are very comfortable to ride, as they walk slowly and gently, and you will be well supported by the humps, sitting comfortably between them. Our camel man will lead you safely through the sand dunes. You will have an opportunity to visit a camel herdsman’s family to discover their culture and traditions, and will spend the night in the tourist camp.
Day 10 Eagle Valley Explore Yolyn Am or ‘Eagle Valley.’ This is a wonderfully picturesque location with ice even in summer and surrounded by sheer rocky walls that form incredible canyons. Visit the Gobi museum. These areas are situated in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park that encompasses the "Three Beauties" peaks and the most easterly points of the Altai Mountains. Overnight in tourist camp.
Day 11 Ulaanbaatar Flight to Ulaanbaatar. You may choose an optional city tour where you will be taken to souvenir and cashmere shops before enjoying an evening concert of National Folklore. Farewell dinner.
