1) Your knowledge of your country and that region was deep and broad – history, geography, customs, architecture, the various languages. For those few questions you could not answer from memory, you looked up the answers and more than satisfied our insatiable curiosity.
In short, you were one of the best guides we’ve ever had – and, as you know, we have been traveling all over and for a long time. We could certainly recommend you most highly to any one. Indeed, just as we recommend to our friends that they give 2) You were excellent at finding out our interests and desires and looking after them. When we mentioned our interest in the performing arts, you organized folkloric shows in various cities and got other guides to buy into them so the shows were not too expensive. 3) I could go on, but what’s really important is the wonderful spirit with which you did all of your organizing and guiding.—cooperative, attentive, enthusiastic. We can well remember when we arrived at the Tashkent Airport and were waiting for our luggage. I looked out a door into the terminal and saw this young lady dancing up and down as she looked out and tried to guess who her clients were.
